What is Volcano Insurance?

Volcano insurance coverage is designed to offer the insured homeowner protection from damage caused by a volcanic eruption. Many homeowners' insurance policies do offer volcano insurance, but you need to check with you local insurance provide to be sure. Some companies have dropped volcano coverage over the years in the high risk areas known as Lava zones. Lava zone 1 refers to areas most likely to be overrun by lava flow. It may be difficult or even expensive to find an insurance company that will offer you volcano coverage in such areas, so be patient when you begin your search.
