What is Sewer Back-up Coverage?
Posted: 10/26/2009
Sewer back-up coverage is an optional part of a homeowners insurance policy that specifically coverage sewer damage. If you own your own home and don't have sewer backup insurance coverage, you may want to consider adding it in the near future. Certain policies have a maximum coverage of $5,000, which may not be adequate coverage for damages from a serious problem, so check with your insurance provider to see what type of coverage they offer. Here are a few good tips on how to keep your sewer problem free.
#1. Encourage your children not to throw discarded debris down the manholes around your home and neighborhood.
#2. Check your own trees for roots than may block your sewage flow.
#3. Do not place items such as diapers, rags, or grease of any kind down your drains.
