What Are Additional Living Expenses?

Additional living expenses can be part of a homeowner's insurance policy. The term refers to the additional charges that are covered in the insured's policy over and above the usual living expenses. Additional living expenses will activate when the policyholder is required to use temporary shelter due to damage to their home that makes their home unlivable for a short period of time.
